Employees in this position assigned to Facilities must be willing and able to work up to 19 hrs PER WEEK between the hours of: Thursday/Friday (5 pm -11:30 pm) and Saturday/Sunday (7 am - 11:30 pm).

Duties may vary depending on the assignment.
Under general supervision, courteously and professionally interacts with residents, the general public, sports organizations, coaches, and sports participants at either City sports facilities (Dan Young Soccer Complex, SA Stadium, Willard Int. Sports Complex) or City parks, trails and recreation facilities to provide enhanced communication and services to the community, while focusing on preventing problems from occurring and promoting positive use of the named facilities or park system; opens/closes sports facilities for athletic field reservations to take place throughout the City; sets-up and tears-down athletic fields when required; assists in maintaining cleanliness of facilities; maintains inventory of restroom facilities; conducts regular inspections and reports hazardous or unsafe conditions of athletic facilities and/or parks; monitors and enforces park rules as outlined in the S.A.M.C., Athletic Field Use Policies & Procedures and Synthetic Field Rules & Regulations; writes detailed reports on rules violations; participates cooperatively in work team activities and performs other related tasks as required. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess and retain a California Class "C" Driver's License as a condition of employment; education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desirable knowledge and abilities listed below.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: public relations; park rules and regulations; personal computers, including current office software applications and Windows operating system.
Ability to: perform assignments without close supervision; be effective and respectful when communicating and interacting with the community and general public, employees and sports facility patrons; work in a team environment; understand and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; use correct grammar and spelling; use telephone, fax machine, copier and computers; be well-organized and pay attention to detail; exercise good judgment; work in a public setting; perform job duties with a high degree of accuracy.
Special Requirement: Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to 60 lbs.

Special Working Condition: Must be willing and able to work during the shifts listed at the top of this bulletin which includes weekends, evenings and holidays, as a condition of employment.
