Responsibilities
- Identifies the physiologic changes induced by surgery and uses this information to plan appropriate nursing care.
- Identifies the physiologic changes induced by general, regional, and local anesthesia and uses this information to plan appropriate nursing care.
- Identifies the pathophysiology of trauma, and uses
- this information to plan appropriate nursing care.
- Directs patient care in an individual operating room.
- Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Maintains a surgically safe environment during surgery.
- Identifies all surgical instrumentation by name and describes its function.
