Recovery Court Group Leader - Contract Position

As our part-time, contracted Recovery Court Group Leader, you will ensure that services run smoothly, clients receive optimal care, and that support provided is consistent with outlined deliverables.

You will provide direct care/clinical services to identified persons that are eligible for the Recovery Court program by facilitating groups each Tuesday and Thursday evening, from 6pm - 730pm.

Founded in 1970, SouthLight Healthcare is one of the area's largest and long-established nonprofit providers of substance use treatment and mental health services. With outpatient and community-based programs, SouthLight provides prevention, education and treatment services in the Triangle and beyond. SouthLight has multiple office locations throughout the Triangle area, serving more than 9,000 clients each year. Services include adult outpatient counseling, Intensive Outpatient Program, Psychiatric Services and Medication Management, Opioid Treatment Program, Court Deferral Program, Peer Support Services, Family Centered Treatment, Community Support Team and a residential treatment program for women and children and more.

Schedule

2 groups per week - Tuesday and Thursday, 6pm - 730pm.

Pay

$25.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities of a Recovery Court Group Leader

• Present group instruction modules utilizing materials approved by the Recovery Court staff
• Support case management efforts based on experience with individual client
• Prepare/maintain/submit documentation in a timely manner
• Be available to support clients 15 minutes before and after group sessions

Qualifications of a Recovery Court Group Leader

Education and Experience

• Minimum Master's degree in a Human Services field
• Meets the requirements specified for a QP status

Licensure/Certifications

• Licensed or provisionally licensed to practice clinically (LCAS, LCASA, LCSW, LCSWA, LMFT, LPC)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability, knowledge, and training to understand nature of addiction, withdrawal symptoms, and identify symptoms of alcohol and drug addiction
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
• Familiarity with the DSM 5 for diagnostic and treatment purposes
• Working knowledge of systems theory and/or other counseling theories and substance abuse treatment
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment; ability to work in a team setting as well as independently
