Job Description
- Provide opportunities for individuals receiving services to direct their own recovery process
- Teach, coach, and motivate, individuals in the acquisition and utilization of skills needed to facilitate their recovery
- Educate and accompany individuals around available service options and choices such as Literacy classes, GED, Employment, Volunteerism, Social Activities
- Promote and introduce the use of natural resources through normal venues of interest
- Facilitate the development of a sense of wellness and self worth
- Provide warmline cell phone coverage on a rotating basis.
- Escort individuals from HOPE & Welcome Center to medical appointments, hospitals, food bank, DPW, shelter/housing etc.
- Help in Welcome Center to transport people to services identified/needed
B.A. in human service field and 2 years of mental health direct care experience, which include 60 hours of psychiatric rehabilitation training or 2 years of experience in psychiatric rehabilitation; or an associate degree or equivalency and 4 years of mental health direct care experience, which must include either 60 hours of psychiatric rehabilitation training or 2 years of experience in psychiatric rehabilitation; H.S. plus 3 years mental health/psych rehab experience; CPS certification plus 2 years mental health/psych rehab experience.
* Note: Current staff will have an opportunity to obtain training and experience within a 1 year time period.
Ø Valid PA driver’s license
Ø Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word.
Ø Knowledge (or willingness to learn about) community resources in Philadelphia area.
Ø Willingness to work flexible work schedule to include some evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.
