    At the present time, a vacancy exists for a full-timeRecords Specialist within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The Record Specialist is responsible for all migrant students’ data, including entering into online systems, filing and the generating of reports as required by the PDE Migrant Education Office.

    ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


    PRIORITIZE beginning with the most important.
    • Assure the completion, accuracy and integrity of all migrant student records and create all necessary reports.
    • Keep up-to-date on all new State data collection software and policies and disseminate the information to all staff.
    • Attend local and State meetings and training, train recruiters and Student Support Specialists on new state processes and procedures related to data management.
    • Update service codes, on a regular basis, to reflect supportive services provided to students.
    • Coordinate additional projects related to student and school district data as assigned by the state MEP office, the Project Manager, or the Project Coordinator.

    ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS:
    PRIORITIZE beginning with the most important.
    • Ability to assist Recruiters and Students Support Specialists with data collection tasks utilizing all software systems implemented by the State Office.
    • Ability to organize data, records and files.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with local and State staff, school personnel and the general public.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Education and Experience
      • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). College training in area preferred.
      • Bilingual Bicultural preferred
      • Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, First Class e-mail system and Filemaker Pro.
    • Skills and Abilities
      • Reasoning Ability
        • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
        • Ability to interpret and understand instructions and regulations.
        • Ability to apply sound judgement to resolve conflicts and solve problems.
      • Other Skills and Abilities
        • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the school community
        • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
      • Language Skills
        • Ability to complete records that conform to prescribed style and format.
        • Ability to write simple correspondence.
        • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
        • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and co-workers.
      • Mathematical Skills
        • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in the performance of routine assignments.
