Job Summary

This position is advertised at the minimum hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.

NATURE OF WORK

Under close supervision, performs administrative, office, clerical and cash handling to include counting, and securing cash according to office policy; this position has department specific responsibility.

Example of Work

(Illustrative Only) Responsible for processing E-recording packages submitted, index appropriately and respond as necessary to electronic recording customers; assists with recording documents presented over the counter and process requests regarding recorded documents; responsible for the coverage of the front office, greeting customers, responds to customer inquiries, receives, sorts, files, and retrieves forms, correspondence, and documents; enters data into computer; collects and processes fees and assists the Recording Technician II with verifying the cash receipts from vendors, when needed; checks and answers correspondence with prepared responses and with structured guidelines; operates a variety of office machines; records plat maps and surveys; verifies and process recording documents, including receipting, balancing cash and check receipts, labeling, scanning and basic indexing of documents presented for recording utilizing a computer; responsible for printing affidavit of property value for Assessor’s Office; provides courteous, high quality service to members of the public by personally responding to requests for service or making appropriate referral; answers routine questions from the public and processes confidential and sensitive documents; reviews, updates and resends customer mailings for all incoming mail; verify if any have returned notices of value forward to mailing address prior to a deadline; may assist other recorder staff in general business tasks as needed; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and one (2) years of general clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires successful completion of a background check.

Hourly rate for this position has been revised effective 3/4/24.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: Yuma County policies and procedures; business English, spelling, and arithmetic; clerical and office practices and procedures.

Skill in: Effectively dealing with public inquiries; alphabetizing and sorting; using computers and other modern office equipment; maintaining records and preparing information for reports; following written and verbal instructions.

Ability to: Effectively respond to phone calls, emails and complaints in a timely manner; plan, prioritizes, manages and responds to multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment; read, write, research, synthesizes data and detailed reports; use modern office equipment and computers; communicate effectively verbally and written; lift up to 10 lbs.; perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing. Working at a computer monitor for extended periods required. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under extreme likelihood of verbal abuse from hostile and frustrated customers.

Medical Coverage Category
The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from three (3) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employee's needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 900 deductible with $10.00 Wellness Incentive. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.
Plan Option 2: Preferred Provider Option B (PPO) or PPO B 1,200 deductible with $10.00 Wellness Incentive. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $20 monthly premium reduction.
Plan Option 3: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) or HDHP-HSA with Wellness Incentive.
HDHP-HSA Wellness Incentive for Employee Only option can receives upto $240.00 annual contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card.
Southwest Service Administrator (SSA) Mexico PPO Health Plan: SSA is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan. The SSA Plan pays 100% of hospital, medical, laboratory and prescription drug benefits, to a maximum of $5,000 per person per calendar year ($10,000 for two or more family members).
