Receptionist/Secretary

Reports To: Principal

Terms of Employment: Permanent, 10 Month Position

Nature of Work: To assist in the operations of the school office.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with greeting and receiving the public.
• Experience in a school office setting is preffered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs secretarial and clerical duties pertaining to the administrative functions of the school office.
• Greets and assists visitors to the school.
• Receives telephone calls, screens, takes reliable messages, and routes calls as appropriate.
• Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and materials.
• Maintains office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, or phone systems and arranges for repairs when equipment malfunctions.
• Orders, receives, and distributes supplies and materials used in the school and maintains records pertaining to purchasing.
• Assists in preparing and coordinating activities related to school special events, fundraisers, or initiatives intended to support the school and students.
• Composes correspondence, memos, and/or reports.
• Maintains school calendar of events.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
