Our clinic has a well-established patient base and is growing rapidly. Successful applicants will have front desk/scheduling experience in a high-volume private practice or other service environment. We see patients four days per week, and the fifth day is set aside for staff collaboration and administrative tasks.
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a medical clinic using an EHR (Electronic Health Record) for scheduling, etc. preferred.
- At least 1 year experience scheduling patients/clients using electronic scheduling software required; experience outside of the healthcare industry will be considered.
- Basic computer/software skills including Mac computers and Google Suite
Key Responsibilities
- Answers incoming phone calls timely, professionally and with courtesy and respect.
- Handles or redirects callers appropriately.
- Monitors and answers messages coming to the clinic via EHR messaging, VM, email, fax and clinic cell phone text
- Greets patients and checks them in, collecting any documentation that may be needed as noted in medical record
- Checks out patients, including collecting any balances owing
- Processes sales of dispensary items as noted in treatment plans, or for walk-in patient requests
- Enters new patients in EHR
- Schedules patients in EHR, following office scheduling guidelines.
- Manages recall list of patients needing to be scheduled for followup appointments
- Manages patient waiting list
- Contacts and reschedules patients when providers' schedules change and/or during inclement weather.
- Contacts patients with balances due to collect payment
- Scans & indexes documentation into medical records
- Answers or appropriately refers billing questions.
- Performs general office tasks such as routing mail, ordering office supplies
- Remains calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
