- The receptionist provides a wide variety of administrative and staff support services to an office site.
- Welcome visitors by greeting them in person; answering or referring inquiries.
- Politely greets and answers or refers telephone inquiries.
- Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories; giving instructions.
- Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook.
- Maintains safe and clean reception area, and office site by complying with processes and procedures.
- Updates calendars and schedules meetings.
- Keeps up to date records of office site reception expenses and costs.
- Supports the distribution, receipt and sorting of daily mail.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Performs other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing.
- Completes routine tasks and deals with situations and activities that are straightforward in nature.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism and customer focused – customer service attitude.
- Organization and time management, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail.
- Be able to work independently and with minimal supervision; ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Telephone skills and hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. printers and fax machines).
