Job Description
As an unarmed Security Officer at DK Security, your duties may vary depending on the site you are working. This client location is a multi-story government building where we are primarily posted at a front reception desk.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Access Control - Only employees are allowed in the building unescorted.
- Camera Monitoring - Monitor CCTV for safety and security concerns.
- Patrolling - Walk the interior of the building, keeping an eye out for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
CURRENT OPENING:
- Tues, Thur, & Sat 1st Shift: 8AM-4PM
- Sun 2nd Shift: 4PM-12AM
- Depending on your availability we can offer a Part-Time position (16-32 hours / week)

LOCATION: Downtown Grand Rapids, MI
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
- Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
- Must be willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
- Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record. (Required for driving sites)
- Less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
- Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
- No other major violations in the last 3 years.
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Note: Internal Candidates with an active disciplinary action in his/her personnel file will NOT be considered for this position.
