Receiving Associate

Job Description

The Receiving Associate is responsible for the inspection, acceptance, and documentation of incoming goods and materials. This role is crucial in ensuring that all received items meet our company's quality standards, and food safety compliance. The associate will work closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure products are safely and efficiently processed into inventory.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming shipments, focusing on preventing foodborne illnesses and protecting against intentional adulteration
• Use detailed checklists to evaluate the integrity and safety of shipments
• Ensure the proper handling and repacking of raw materials as necessary, adhering to hygienic practices and using sanitary equipment
• Perform sensory inspections to assess the quality of products based on appearance, aroma, and texture
• Verify the packaging and labeling of food contact materials
• Record and document all receiving activities
• Report any non-conformances or safety concerns to the manager

Manufacturing and Fulfillment Assistance

• Assist in coordinating stock transfers to retail storefronts
• Assist fulfillment with packing, gathering, and staging products for the fulfillment team.
• Complete assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks throughout the facility
• Participate in active food safety requirements
• Assist in keeping spice and packaging storage organized and clean
• Pack spices as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a receiving, warehousing, or quality control role, preferably in the food industry.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
