Job Description

Position Summary

One of the major responsibilities of the Receiving Associate is to lead and assist with receiving the ACE truck deliveries, two times a week, assist with processing the merchandise received from the truck and assist with putting the merchandise onto the sales floor. These deliveries (truck days) happen at 3:00am, every Wednesday and Saturday. Candidate must be able to work the shift of 2:30am - 10:30am. Experience in retail receiving (including fork-lift operation) is preferred, but not required. Hardware experience is a bonus. Candidate must have the drive to learn and grow in the position with a cheerful, positive attitude. They must work well under pressure and have the ability to maintain composure in all circumstances. Candidates must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.

Major Responsibilities

The major receiving responsibilities for this position include:

Candidate must be able to work the shift of 2:30am - 10:30am (Wed. & Sat.)

• Unload and load trucks in safe manner Receive and sort Ace order using the Ace sort process. Operate a dolly, pallet jack and fork-lift safely and efficiently. Separate Special Orders from delivery and process according to store policy.
• Make frequent deliveries and or pick-ups in the company box truck to area accounts, including Space Center. Must be able to pass background check for authorization on Space Center premises.

The minimum requirements for this position include the following:

Transportation

Must have dependable transportation and the ability to adhere to a flexible work schedule. Must have a clean driving record and comfortable driving a box truck.

Education/Training

High School diploma, some college preferred. Possess a vast product knowledge of consumable products along with a willingness to learn. Experience in a retail environment.

Skills/Knowledge

Strong organizational skills Knowledgeable of store policies and procedures, Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to solve problems, work independently, and check accuracy, Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus. Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings (every Wednesday and Saturday at 2:30 am), evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.

Physical Requirement

Must be able to function productively and responsibly during an "over-night" shift.

Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently, Ability to stand for an extended period of time, bend, kneel and climb ladders.
