SAIC is seeking a Real-Time RF Scene Generation Engineer to drive RF Target Simulation to support the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) open-loop and closed-loop Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) testing. This position will evaluate technologies and methods, develop and maintain a real-time RF Scene Generation capability which integrates into the existing KHILS RF HWIL system, and create an in-house capability for developing synthetic RF target signatures, backgrounds, and validating them. This includes synthetic RF signatures that are compared to software such as X-Patch, Lucernhammer, Ansys HFSS, IRMA, CSG, etc., with focus on IV&V’d software. Our customer is the US Air Force Armament Directorate Office located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (M.S.) or Doctorate (PhD) in electrical engineering or physics
- Strong theoretical and computational background with demonstrated work history using graphical processing units (GPUs) and/or field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) to enhance the runtime of tools and models
- Demonstrated work history performing software design and programming
- Understanding of optical scattering phenomena such as ray tracing and diffraction
- Working knowledge of one or more radar modeling tools such as Xpatch, Lucernhammer, CSG, etc.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience beyond the educational background
- Candidate must reside in proximity to Eglin AFB and be able to work in office and attend briefings/meetings.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Top-Secret clearance.
- The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with engineering team, AFRL leadership, and project management team.
