Position: Real Assets and Sustainable Investments Intern - Summer 2024

Compensation: Paid Internship (hourly rates will start at $20/hour)

The Real Assets department is looking for a summer intern who will work in the Foundation's Investment Management Department which manages a $8 billion globally diversified portfolio.
General Summary of Internship:
- Attend many investment meetings with prospective managers and internal meetings where investment decisions are made.
- The intern will work primarily on Real Assets and Sustainable Investments but will also have opportunities to work with other asset classes over the course of the summer.
- Projects will be assigned based on asset class needs, and could include manager diligence, portfolio analysis, portfolio company research, market research and financial modeling.
In addition to these assignments, the intern will attend internal and external criminal justice meetings, and also attend staff events and in-house briefings by grantees, staff, and other practitioners.
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student with a keen interest in the institutional investment management business.
- Strong analytic and communication skills, and a strong team orientation.
- Successful completion of finance and accounting classes; an investment class would be a plus.
- Understanding on how financial statements are linked as a foundation for the summer projects.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong computer skills, especially in Excel, are required.
- Computer programming knowledge is a bonus.
This internship is based in Chicago, Illinois. Our work environment is hybrid with designated in-office days and virtual days. Interns will be required to reside in the Chicagoland area for the duration of the program.
