Reading Teacher At Granite Ridge School

Monona Grove School District has an opening for a 1.0 FTE Reading Teacher at Granite Ridge School. Position begins approximately August 29, 2024.
Overview:
The Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified Reading Teacher for grades 3-5. 
Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Reading teacher in support of all learners and co-plan to co-serve with teams of teachers in inclusive classroom settings.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small group instruction by adapting the district-approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
• Serve as a literacy leader through thoughtful planning and facilitation of professional development related to literacy at the building level.
• Apply principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) through multiple means of representation, engagement, and assessment supporting reciprocal learning strategies.
• Support proportional representation of all learners in all classrooms.
• Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including special education teachers, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.
• Collaborate with school improvement teams and align practice with the MGSD Equity Non-Negotiables.
• Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.
• Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.
• Attend work regularly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in teaching reading preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment.
• Knowledge of and experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) and training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention preferred.
• Experience working with diverse learners and supporting culturally responsive practices. 
• Knowledge of Title I program guidelines and expectations preferred.

 
License Requirement:

• Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Reading Teacher (1316) license, or eligibility to obtain license upon hire required
  • Early Childhood- Adolescence or;
  • Pre-kindergarten- Grade 12
