Overview:
The Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified Reading Teacher for grades 3-5.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Reading teacher in support of all learners and co-plan to co-serve with teams of teachers in inclusive classroom settings.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small group instruction by adapting the district-approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
- Serve as a literacy leader through thoughtful planning and facilitation of professional development related to literacy at the building level.
- Apply principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) through multiple means of representation, engagement, and assessment supporting reciprocal learning strategies.
- Support proportional representation of all learners in all classrooms.
- Communicate proactively and effectively with other teachers and administrators.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including special education teachers, to provide a range of academic and social-emotional support to students in inclusive classroom settings.
- Collaborate with school improvement teams and align practice with the MGSD Equity Non-Negotiables.
- Establish effective rapport and build strong relationships with students.
- Develop positive relationships and engage in open reciprocal communication with parents and families.
- Attend work regularly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in teaching reading preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of and experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) and training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention preferred.
- Experience working with diverse learners and supporting culturally responsive practices.
- Knowledge of Title I program guidelines and expectations preferred.
License Requirement:
- Valid WI Department of Public Instruction Reading Teacher (1316) license, or eligibility to obtain license upon hire required
- Early Childhood- Adolescence or;
- Pre-kindergarten- Grade 12
