Teaching is not what we do, but who we are. Our shared vision unites us in mission as we serve more than 350 students, representing over 30 towns in central Massachusetts. Position Overview: St. Bernadette School is seeking a Reading Instruction Specialist to join our faculty.
The ideal candidate should possess a passion for Catholic education and experience with methods of reading intervention and assessment. He or she will demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching students how to construct meaning from texts and will aim to deliver instruction in an engaging and joyful manner.Responsibilities: Develop and deliver engaging instruction in order to help students construct meaning from texts and express opinions effectively.Cultivate a joyful and supportive school environment where students feel encouraged to tackle difficult texts and contribute to discussions.Support students development as readers and writers in a 1:1 and classroom setting.Assess student progress and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide feedback.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Education, English, or a related field.Experience with reading intervention methods of instruction and assessment preferred.Commitment to refining the craft of teaching.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The ability to model a love of learning and a love of Christ.To Apply: If you are passionate about Catholic education and eager to positively impact the lives of students, we earnestly encourage you to apply!
