R&D Technologist (Surgical Robotics)Job Description
As an R&D Technologist on the Surgical Robotics team, you will work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and experienced R&D team, tasked with inventing and launching the next generation of medical solutions for Philips’ Image Guided Therapies business.
Your role:
- Supporting the team with rapid prototyping, electromechanical assembly and electronics assembly as required through the iterations towards the product.
- Supporting 3D printing efforts as needed.
- Interfacing with external suppliers and subcontractors as required.
- Testing and debugging electromechanical assemblies and reviewing designs with team members, to ensure manufacturability.
You're the right fit if:
- You’ve acquired 2+ years of experience in rapid prototyping (experience with complex medical devices and/or for medical robotics – preferred).
- Your skills include mechanical design using SolidWorks or similar tools; knowledge of rapid prototyping methodologies; experience assembling electro-mechanical systems; experience operating milling machines and basic machine shop equipment.
- You have a technology degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
- You’re a self-motivated individual with good organizational and time management skills; and a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface in a cross-disciplinary manner, including engineers, product managers, and clinical specialists.
