Position Summary:
The Development Scientist in Paper is a critical R&D scientist working on Buckman’s Global Growth Strategies by accelerating the development of new products and performing predictive laboratory performance testing and evaluation for pulp related chemistries. . The resource will be positioned to maintain existing projects and accelerate the development of new capabilities in BSW defoamers, digester additives, and drive the development of new digital capabilities to support current and future new products. 


This position will be application and formulation focused and will be expected to deliver new, differentiated technologies that grow Buckman's market share in pulp related markets.

Minimum Requirements to Apply:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Applied Surfactant Science, Colloid or Physical Chemistry with 3+ years of experience in relevant industry; or M.S. degree with 7+ years of experience in relevant industry; or B.S. degree with 7+ years of experience in relevant industry
  • A secondary degree in applied Pulp/Paper Science with primary degree in chemical related field would be considered.
  • Experience with emulsions and direct scale-up is required.
