Duties:
Be actively involved in new product strategy, concept development, product formulation, and process development for Innovation, Technology and Quality (ITQ) to enable the business to win in the marketplace. Support all aspects of the product development cycle with emphasis on discovery for innovation, Core renovation, and product formulation. Support the development of great tasting food products that deliver on consumer expectations and concept functionality through consumer testing and product scale-up. Partner with Business teams and external partners to enhance Core renovation strategy and execution and develop winning taste solutions for General Mills. Consult, design, and manage the appropriate product stability studies to meet business needs and enhance product foundational knowledge. Determine product specifications and tests that ensure product safety and continued product quality. Determine key design principles using consumer first design. Create, vet and commercialize ideas that improve margins of existing products. Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance innovation, renovation or margin expansion projects.
Requirements:
- Employer will accept a Master's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience in food application and process development or related.
- Position requires the following:
1. 6 months of experience collaborating with cross-functional partners and directing project team to deliver results through managing projects in highly dynamic, multicultural and global environment.
2. 6 months of experience with idea generation, development, commercialization, quality, and safety evaluation
3. 6 months of experience applying food chemistry knowledge including applying knowledge of how various processing can have an impact on product attributes
4. 6 months of experience working with functionality, behavior, and chemistry of proteins (plant and animal) in complex model food systems to improve the product and process characteristics
5. 6 months of experience proposing, planning and driving execution of various scientific experiments to advance innovation, renovation, or margin expansion in different food model systems - Experience may be gained through academic coursework, research assistantship, laboratory instructor or employment.
- Position requires 10% domestic travel.
- May telecommute 20% of time.

The salary range for this position $84,614-112,400.
