Job Description

Provide effective bioanalytical support to R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and other functions by executing, analyzing, and reporting results of analytical testing and characterization of protein samples and products.  Document and communicate findings in lab notebook, memos, and reports.

Schedule/Shift:  1st shift, Mon.-Fri.

Position Type:  Long-term, contract position for 1 yr. (leave coverage)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing laboratory work and upkeep in a safe and reliable manner according to laboratory, industry, and regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for routine sample preparation and buffer preparation.
  • Independently perform, analyze, and report results of selected routine analytical methods with the highest level of data integrity.
  • Responsible for documenting experimental findings utilizing cGMP and scientific judgements. 
  • Prepare summaries and memos to report findings when appropriate. Contribute to preparation of SOPs, protocols, and reports.
  • Support the development and qualification of new analytical methods under the direction of senior personnel.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining of analytical equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues. Understand fundamental principles, theories, and concepts of the equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in science related fields such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
  • Experience in various bioanalytical techniques and instrumentation (such as gel electrophoresis, ELISA, HPLC, mass spectrometry, etc.) for protein characterization is preferred.
  • Experience in GMP/GLP environments is desirable.
  • Experience using an electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Knowledge in plasma fractionation and hands on experience with protein separation/purification are helpful.
