CCI/Speer is looking to add anR&D Engineering Internat our Lewiston location for the summer of 2024.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and test new products
- Manufacture and test prototype samples
- Compile the test data to assist in the completion of final reports and documentation
- New equipment design and implementation
- Load lab support and product testing
- Production engineering support
- Work with the Engineering team on various projects
QUALIFICATIONS
- Student currently enrolled in an accredited technical college or university.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient at handling ambiguity and dealing with multiple priorities.
- Continuous improvement and results oriented.
- Strong interest in working for Vista Outdoor Inc. and passion for the Shooting Sports industry.
- Mechanically inclined background.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- Monday thru Thursday schedule (Working four 10 hr days)
- Target internship dates: May 2024 - August 2024
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Physical Requirements: Employee will be sitting the majority of the time, with some walking and standing. Minor lifting objects over 10 lbs., carrying, stooping, and kneeling to access books and reports, transport paperwork and materials, and to retrieve files. Some local travel and work outdoors. Manual dexterity for extensive computer work and writing. Hearing, speaking, and vision are required (with or without correction).
Mental Requirements: Must communicate effectively in verbal and written formats. Reading comprehension and basic math skills are a requirement. Flexibility to effectively deal with a variety of people and situations and to handle interruptions and multiple tasks simultaneously. Quick thinking and problem solving to readily assimilate information. Ability to maintain tact and highly professional manners. Initiative to effectively complete tasks with little supervision. The ability to identify and appropriately handle confidential information.
Equipment Used: Telephone, calculator, personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, and printer.
Working Environment: Work is done in an office environment, with some time spent in the manufacturing plant. This exposure subjects incumbents to temperature changes, dirt, dust, noise, vibration, moving objects and mechanical parts, machine tool lubricant mists, equipment and explosive hazards. Co-worker support, guidance and reinforcement are readily available.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Hands-on experience with basic statistical analysis (comparing means, standard deviations, distributions). Experience with Microsoft Excel. Small Caliber ammunition manufacturing experience.
