SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Cashier, the Range Attendant is responsible for the upkeep of the putting green, grounds and driving range, ball shagger and overall, general appearance of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 16 years of age
- Must be dependable
- Ability to drive a ball shaggier and manual pick up golf balls
- Present a positive attitude at all times
- Provide excellent customer service
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
- Set up equipment and check supplies at the beginning of each shift
- Report any needed supplies to the cashier for the next shift or next day
- Clearing off Mini-golf green paths and clearing off pathways surrounding Golf Center for maintenance
- General maintenance of the driving range including mowing grass tee area, upkeep of flags, putting green, short game area
- Clean work areas before, during and after the workers shift
- Work effectively with fellow employees
- Project a positive image and neat appearance to visitors of the Crystal Lake Park District
- Exercise appropriate care in the use of Park District equipment
- Presents a positive image through adherence to uniform policies
- Keeps a watchful eye out for any public safety hazards and report it immediately to cashier or coordinator, or repair personally, if possible
- Be alert and businesslike at all times
- Wear assigned uniform at all times while on duty
- Prevent accidents by eliminating hazards and hazardous behavior from the facility during assigned shifts
- Handle customer complaints and refer difficult customers to the cashier
- Arrange for substitutes and notifies supervisor of changes. Make sure you choose a sub that is not already working that day. Failure to find a sub or show up for work will have negative consequences
- Complete time sheets in a timely manner
- Participate in Park District safety and training program to ensure that work performed and services provided are implemented in a safe manner
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the cashier.
- Work as a team.
- Comply with all the procedures in the Golf Learning Center Manual and Park District Employee Policy Manual.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
- Work schedules will vary depending on current weather or attendance conditions
- Pay will be based on the current part-time seasonal salary schedule and years of experience
- Due to the seasonal nature of this job, Range Attendants are expected to work on weekends, holidays and evenings.
- This is a position not eligible for benefits such as vacation, sick, personal, etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
Range Attendant staff will be working indoors as well as outdoors, which will expose him/her to weather conditions, including extreme heat and rain. Most duties are performed indoors: these conditions include lighting and temperature. The employee may be exposed to elevated noise levels from participants, large crowds, public venues, sound equipment, maintenance equipment and/or power tools. Will be exposed to dust, pollens, molds, insects etc. may be present.
