Cargo Ramp Agent- Starting Pay $18.00 + $1.00 Premium pay= $19.00 per hour
Days/Nights and times are based on aircraft arrival.
- REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reports directly to designated Shift Supervisor, through the Lead, as applicable
- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Safely and proficiently perform all duties assigned by Leads and Supervisors to provide services to the customer in the most efficient and professional manner including, but not limited to:
- Loading and unloading of aircraft, vehicles and freight/mail containers (ULD’s/APC’s, etc.).
- Build-up, break-down, and sort of freight, mail, and baggage, as applicable.
- Safe and proper acceptance, handling and transfer of freight, mail and baggage, as applicable.
- Ensure and verify security and integrity of all freight, mail and baggage, as applicable.
- Provide proper marshalling signals for aircraft and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operations, as directed.
- Conduct proper two-way communications in English, using ground-to-ground and air-to-ground radios and telephones, as applicable.
- Calculate and/or verify correct weights, and destination/origination labels/tags.
- Safe and proper operation of GSE and other equipment, as trained and certified.
- Service and support of customer aircraft (cabin cleaning, lavatory/water service, deicing), as applicable.
- Cleaning and servicing of GSE, ramp, warehouse, bathrooms, offices, and facilities, as directed
- Safety and properly position and tow aircraft as trained and certified.
- Attend all meetings and complete all training and certification, as required by WFS, customer, airport, and all applicable government agencies. (Working usage of English required, appropriate to function)
- Adhere to all airport and facility regulations regarding proper security and identification procedures, including correct escort and security identification badge/challenge responsibilities.
- Comply with all safety regulations, methods, and procedures required by WFS, customers, airport, and all applicable government agencies.
- Adhere to WFS attendance requirements:
- Report to work, on time and as scheduled.
- “No Call – No Show” and arriving after scheduled time will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
- All exceptions must be approved and documented by Supervisor.
- Adhere with WFS Uniform Policy with professional appearance at all times:
- Comply with company approved clothing, proper footwear, personal protection equipment (hearing protection, safety vests, etc. – appropriate to function) and jewelry restrictions
- Advise Supervisor immediately regarding any hazardous materials (HAZ-MAT) cargo and/or any irregularities (i.e.; spills, damaged items, pilferage, etc.).
- Comply with WFS policy for reporting injuries, incidents, damage and theft:
- Report ALL injuries, incidents, damage, and/or theft immediately to the Supervisor.
- Disciplinary action, up to and including termination, for non-reporting of any of above
- Required Drug & Alcohol Test performed upon each incident occurrence
- Comply with general position requirements, including, but not limited to:
- Availability to work all shifts, including, but not limited to, mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for the state in which the employee works.
- Be able to pass a background and drug screening
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
