We are seeking a passionate and dedicated candidate to join the Molecular Radiotherapy Research Laboratory in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Washington in the capacity of Research Scientist/Engineer, focusing on Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry. POSITION PURPOSE This role is pivotal to our interdisciplinary collaborative research efforts. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in synthetic chemistry, antibody conjugation and radiochemistry.

We will also provide all necessary training to ensure the successful candidate is equipped to excel in this role. The position supports the development of novel reagents, including monoclonal antibody-based reagents. Additionally, this position is responsible for laboratory equipment maintenance, chemical inventory management and laboratory safety compliance.

This position supports the efforts of preclinical and clinical studies as well as applications in diagnostic and targeted radionuclide therapy. This provides support for the patient care and advancement of care for cancer patients. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Research & Development: (85%) Synthesize and characterize novel reagents for applications in diagnostic and targeted radionuclide therapy, especially monoclonal antibody-based reagents.

Conduct radiolabeling experiments to develop new labeling methods Lead efforts in radiolabeling of antibodies for preclinical studies. Assist in the preparation of radiolabeled reagents in a cGMP environment for clinical studies. Prepare and process bismuth targets to produce astatine-211 for chemistry, preclinical and clinical studies.

Conduct chemistry experiments to improve radionuclide production. Analyze data, draw meaningful conclusions, and report findings in a clear, concise manner. Laboratory Management: (10%) Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and calibration of all laboratory equipment.

Training duties: (5%) Guide and mentor students and Postdoctoral trainees in the team, ensuring the dissemination of knowledge and best laboratory practices. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field plus 4 years' experience or equivalent combination of education/experience . Prior experience with radioactive materials and background in synthetic chemistry are essential Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently Strong verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with lab safety and radiation safety protocols and best practices Willingness to be strong team member by helping others when needed Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Willingness and ability to rapidly learn and implement new techniques/instruments as required for research projects Capable of excellent time management and multi-tasking skills and the ability to balance work priorities DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) preferred Strong preference for candidates with experience in antibody conjugation and radiolabeling of biomolecules for molecular imaging or targeted radionuclide therapy Knowledge and experience with glovebox techniques Knowledge and experience with radioanalytical equipment and methods (radio-HPLC, radio-TLC, gamma-ray and/or alpha spectroscopy, etc.) Flexibility to work late hours or on weekends/holidays when required to finish a time-sensitive experiment Application Process: The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
