This is a full-time, twelve-month faculty position for Brightpoint Community College.
The Radiologic Technology Clinical Coordinator is responsible for serving as liaison between the College, faculty, program students (1st year and 2nd year), and all clinical sites and the site clinical instructor/liaison where Radiologic Technology students are placed. Overseeing of all clinical affiliate sites for the program. The coordinator will work directly with the Radiography Program Director and Division Dean and will be responsible for the following: Managing student clinical competencies and performance evaluations to include scheduling students to clinical rotations and clinical record keeping. Correlating and coordinating clinical education with didactic education and evaluating its effectiveness. Teaching in-person and online/hybrid didactic and clinical courses. Serving as a liaison at clinical affiliate sites between clinical staff and BCC students enrolled in the Radiography program to include weekly clinical site visits. Supporting the Radiography program director in all aspects of administration of the program. Maintaining current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development. Maintaining current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress. Participating in the accreditation and assessment processes. Managing the contracts between the college and the clinical affiliate sites. In addition to teaching/clinical supervision, all faculty members advise students, serve on division and college-wide committees, and participate in other activities that support the mission of the college.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a field related to imaging sciences, education, or health. Documents two years clinical experience in the professional discipline. Documents one-year experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program. Holds current, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, in radiography. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong commitment to the community college mission and philosophy, students, and teaching in a community college. Commitment to academic advisement and mentoring of students. Ability to teach during day, evening and weekend hours and travel to locations mainly within Central Virginia. Ability to use current and emerging instructional technologies and distance learning technologies. Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising. Familiarity with regional accreditation standards, certification, and licensure requirements. Demonstrates understanding of, and commitment to, the comprehensive mission of community colleges. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with regional accreditation standards, certification, and licensure requirements. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience within an accredited radiography program. Administrative, program management, and/or curriculum development experience. Familiarity with the use of instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning. Experience with active learning, team-based learning, and/or other student-centered teaching styles. Experience developing online courses in a college setting. Master's degree or higher in a field related to imaging sciences or education. Additional credential in CT, MRI, and/or Mammography. Experience teaching in higher education, especially within a community college. Experience advising and mentoring students. Familiarity with the use of instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning. Experience with active learning, team-based learning, and/or other student-centered teaching style. Experience developing online courses in a college setting.
