Duties
- Safely operate a variety of trucks, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, roll off trucks, and refrigerated trailers.
- Transport goods and materials to and from specified locations.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trucks to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other appropriate equipment.
- Plan routes and adhere to delivery schedules.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers to coordinate pick-ups and deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck being operated.
- Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably with experience in dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or other specialized vehicles.
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with tanker operations is a plus.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet delivery deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers.
