SUMMARY
Lubricates the moving parts of vehicles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Trains with an experienced technician for 30 to 60 days. Experienced technician verifies all work completed.
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Sells lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services.
- Maintains records on customers
- Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
- Replaces oil and air filters.
- Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
- Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
- Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Documents all work performed on the repair order.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Completes lubrication service according to dealership and manufacturer quality and time standards. Maintains and ensures quality service for every customer’s experience.
- Keeps shop area neat and clean.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
- Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
- Keeps current on all training requirements; such as GM training, Compliance training and other training as assigned by manager.
- Sets a good example by maintaining a healthy work demeanor and cooperating with other managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. Represents Puklich Chevrolet positively when out in the community.

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
No prior experience or training.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Completes GM Fundamentals for Tech Apprentice within the first six months of employment
- Valid Driver’s License
- Good Driving Record
