Are a passionate kdb+/q Engineer with a strong background in developing and maintaining high-performance systems for financial regulatory reporting. Your deep understanding of the securities and equities industry and your technical expertise allow you to deliver innovative solutions that meet our client's evolving needs.

As a KDB+/Q Engineer, you will be crucial in implementing, supporting, and maintaining our client's KDB+ systems. You will work in an Agile team framework, creating interfaces with real-time kdb+ databases, managing releases and code deployment, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the systems.

We're looking for

A kdb+/q Engineer with 5+ years of hands-on experience to play a crucial role in implementing, supporting, and maintaining our KDB+ systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of kdb+/q, UNIX/Linux, Matlab, SQL, Perforce, Perl, Python, HTML, CSS, and XML. You will work in an Agile team framework, creating interfaces with real-time kdb+ databases, managing releases and code deployment, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of our systems.

As a kdb/q+ Engineer, you will be responsible for developing functionality in kdb/C#/Java/C++ to drive growth and adhere to market standards. You will maintain and develop strategic solutions for consuming real-time market data, P&L, and risk functionality and feed solutions for various reporting requirements, such as OATS, ACT, and TRACE. Your role will also involve performing ad hoc analysis on business and system solutions, automating workflows based on user requirements, and training and advising clients' workers on best practices and market surveillance.

The Skills
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience with kdb+/q
  • Extensive experience with C#, Java, and Python
  • Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and scripting languages
  • Deep knowledge of Capital Markets, particularly in the Securities and Equities industry
  • Familiarity with financial regulatory reporting, including the Securities Exchange Commission, FINRA, and SEC Rule 15c31
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies and tools such as JIRA, SharePoint, wiki, and Confluence
  • Understanding of Market Data, Equities, FX, Orders and Executions, Corporate Accounting, and General Ledger
  • A high degree of focus, energy, self-motivation, and a team player mindset
  • Ability to deliver rapid incremental progress and meet project deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
The Expectations

30 Days

  • Familiarize yourself with the client's existing kdb+ systems and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement and optimization
  • Begin developing and implementing enhancements to the kdb+ systems

60 Days

  • Actively participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Develop and maintain interfaces with real-time kdb+ databases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the systems
  • Assist in managing releases and code deployment

90 Days

  • Develop kdb/q/C#/Java/C++ functionality to drive growth and adhere to market standards.
  • Maintain and develop strategic solutions for consuming real-time market data, P&L, and risk functionality.
  • Develop feed solutions for reporting requirements, such as OATS, ACT, and TRACE.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis on business and system solutions
  • Automate workflows based on user requirements
  • Train and advise client's workers on best practices and market surveillance.
