The Quality Technician tests product batches and will make adjustments, as necessary, to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
Essential Functions
- Performs standard tests on assigned product line production batches and on some incoming raw materials as needed, ensuring the meeting of Company and the customer’s specifications.
- Acts as a technical resource to production addressing issues related to production batches.
- Recommends to production and may develop adjustments to batches to meet specifications.
- Records test results in SAP. Maintains reference files.
- Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
- Ensures all gauges and test equipment are verified.
- May participate in investigations of complaints and corrective actions as needed.
- Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
- Completes and sends documentation to customers (i.e. COA)
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
Required Education:
- US High School diploma, GED equivalency or equivalent experience
- 1 year of related manufacturing lab/quality experience or 1 year of Company production experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical lab procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications.
- Must be able to write legibly to keep records and to correspond.
- Must have strong mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations.
- Requires matching proficiency, including the ability to color match.
- Must have ability to reason and address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must have manual dexterity sufficient to use a wide variety of standard lab equipment including a scale, ovens, viscometers and the ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer, a calculator, telephone, fax, and photocopier.
