SUMMARY:
The Quality System Administrator (QSA) provides support improving, fostering, and advancing the Quality Management System (QMS) for a product range that includes cosmetics, over the counter drugs and medical devices. Responsibilities include the successfully processing, documenting, maintenance and control of procedures, instructions, reports and quality records. This position is also responsible for managing internal audits and hosting external audits.
The QSA will gather and prepare data for trend analysis and collect and report on key quality indicators. This position is responsible for logging and aiding in the investigation of customer complaints and consumer feedback. The QSA will aid in activities supporting supplier evaluation, selection and control through vendor audits visits and training. A key characteristic and goal for this position is the ability to influence and work with cross-functional teams to instill and embed quality assurance concepts and initiatives in the organization.
The role is based at the corporate headquarters in Carson, CA with full 5 days work on site guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and Support the Quality System infrastructure by performing QA tasks pertaining to documentation of processes.
- Prepare, format and review Quality SOPs, Forms, Specifications, manage QA related document change control.
- Process Approval of QA component Standards.
- Manages the complaint handling system and works with internal partners to track, route and document for analysis, reporting and closing complaints in a timely manner.
- Manage customer product quality feedback data to summarize and trend.
- Track/manage/log Corrective Action requests.
- Prepare, control and maintain Quality System Data Logs (Nonconformance reports, Corrective Action, Customer Complaints, documents master list)
- Support building of product component dossier by obtaining/organizing packaging technical documents (SDS, Drawings, Specs) as required.
- Perform audit of external suppliers and manufacturers as required and maintain audit records. Support initial production on site at contract manufacturers as required.
- Manage Internal audits of the Quality System.
- Host and support third party Quality Audits.
- Perform training in all aspects of Quality Management Systems as required.
- Perform any other relevant tasks as directed by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years' quality assurance and quality documentation control experience in a Medical Device Setting or similar.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience within the cosmetic or pharmaceutical or medical device industry
- Proficient in Word, Excel & Access
- Must be well-organized and proficient at reviewing and editing documentation.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems compliant to FDA -21 CFR Part 820 -- Quality System Regulation, CFRs part 210 & 211 GMP regulations; ISO 22716, ISO 13485
The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
