Purpose
The Quality Supervisor oversees, interacts with, and supports the Quality Technicians in day-to-day inspections, testing, audits, quality reporting, handling of nonconforming product, problem-solving and decision-making to ensure all products are of acceptable quality to satisfy the intended needs of 3ACU's customers. The Quality Lead completes tasks and projects to comply with the requirements of and continually improve 3ACU's Quality Management System (QMS).

Purpose
The Quality Supervisor oversees, interacts with, and supports the Quality Technicians in day-to-day inspections, testing, audits, quality reporting, handling of nonconforming product, problem-solving and decision-making to ensure all products are of acceptable quality to satisfy the intended needs of 3ACU's customers. The Quality Lead completes tasks and projects to comply with the requirements of and continually improve 3ACU's Quality Management System (QMS).
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the 3ACU's QMS as it relates to product quality and to the proper performance of day-to-day quality activities.
- Oversee Quality Technicians to ensure all duties and tasks are completed, and records are maintained accurately during each shift.
- Be proficient in the duties and responsibilities of the Quality Technicians, and provide technical support and coverage as needed.
- Maintain work schedules to support production, approve timecards and approve time off.
- Ensure test equipment and measuring devices are verified and calibrated as scheduled.
- Assist with the identification and development of work instructions, procedures and processes needed to support the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Investigate product or process nonconformances and communicate them to Production Supervision and next level Management as needed.
- Ensure that nonconforming material is clearly identified, documented accurately, and dispositioned appropriately.
- Configure recipes and maintain standards database for the specMetrix dry film thickness gauges and HunterLab spectrophotometers.
- Ensure that paint retains and standards are properly maintained for easy retrieval, internal traceability, and warranty purposes.
- Complete new color process for paints, including: maintain paint data sheet (PDS), create paint run sheet, read color standard into HunterLab color instruments, and store new color standards.
- Maintain paint supplier pre-ships and co-ships, including: enter batch data into Eclipse database, review COA, communicate release status to paint supplier, and maintain COA & batch retains.
- Assist paint suppliers and provide technical support for batch adjustments, color matching, and special runs or trials.
- Maintain operating supplies inventory for paint and ACM labs.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS policies and procedures and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Assist in training of employees, both new and existing.
- Provide input to and actively participate in performance reviews (IPCM) and the progressive disciplinary process.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of quality assurance or technical work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong leadership skills and experience supervising a team are required.
- Bachelor's degree and ASQ certification are preferred.
- Must be able to pass a color perception test, as this position demands close visual color inspections and the ability to make critical color judgment decisions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is desired.
- Experience working with various lab instrumentation and measuring tools.
- Requires attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Requires planning and time-management skills to handle mutiple tasks on multiple products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Able to comprehend product specifications, technical documents, and production methods as they relate to extrusion, laminating, painting, coating, and finishing applications.
- Emphasizes personal and professional growth, keeps knowledge and skills current.
- Minimal travel required, up to 10%.
- Wearing of high-visibility clothing, safety shoes, eye protection, and other PPE are required.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
