Job Title: Quality Control Specialist

Department: Operations

Location: North Smithfield, RI (onsite psotion)

Reports to: VP of Operations

Position Summary
:

We are looking for highly diligent candidates with excellent attention to detail for the role of Quality Specialist. Quality Specialists are responsible for monitoring and evaluating internal production processes, examining products to determine their quality, and gathering product feedback, among other duties.


Essential Functions/Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with Product development and Process on establishing and maintaining Quality standards. Once the quality standard has been established, understood, and implemented, train staff to ensure that products are defect free and are of the highest possible quality.
  • Conduct Acceptance Quality Limit inspection on outgoing shipments and finished products. Physically inspect a statistical percentage based on total quantity focusing on carton quantity, labeling and carton counts.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable materials.
  • Ensure First Articles are completed and 100% accurate.
  • Provide QA metrics and analysis to support the management team in planning.
  • Provide detailed reports and create presentations for finished goods inspection, production scrap, outgoing shipments and produce statistical reports with solutions to improve.
  • Quality proofs on all tooling
  • Reporting to upper management on quality standard issues
  • Learn and conduct testing for compliance and certifications.


Skills/Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required which include but are not limited to:

  • Degree in business administration or relevant field
  • 5+ years in a quality role
  • Quality certification is preferred but not needed.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Data analysis and statistical aptitude
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control
  • Experience with DOD initiatives is preferred.

None at this time.


Work Environment

This position operates in both an office and warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. Additionally, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, above average temperatures, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.


Safety

Trained in all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to handle tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Friday, 6:30a.m.-12:30p.m. 40 hours per week.


Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day.
