Description
The Quality Specialist is responsible for conducting all required laboratory functions, including identification, and required testing of raw materials and finished goods, to verify and determine the acceptability of all materials used or produced within production as per specifications, ISO requirements, SOPs, and Good Laboratory Practices. This specialist is responsible for monitoring sanitation requirements, performing environmental studies, and maintaining Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s) in documentation and record keeping. The Quality Specialist tracks and records NOEs for the Texas site and liaises with the Torrance Quality Team and other departments to disposition as required. Strong leader with a solid work ethic in successfully completing tasks by being dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success.
Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Job Functions
· Follow and enforce all applicable standard operating procedures and policies.
· Manage efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments and sites to ensure quality assurance:
o Production Manager/Procurement on developing tests to validate new materials/products.
o Production Staff and Quality Unit to ensure that quality procedures are being followed.
- Carry out Environmental Monitoring to determine microbial content of raw materials, in-process and finished products:
- Set up of tests, active testing, reading plates, monitoring activity and trending of results.
- Interpret test results and provide disposition/recommendations.
- Ensure that appropriate testing procedures are followed, and necessary controls are maintained.
- Assure that all materials used and/or products produced/used at Micronova meet the microbiological requirements of Regulatory Agencies.
- Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
- Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
- Execute and, where necessary, develop standard operating procedures for production and warehousing operations.
- Liaise with Quality Manager to develop and implement improvements to the quality process.
· Oversee audit reports including but not limited to, paper audits, physical audits.
- Liaise with Quality Manager and other Quality Technicians to review and update SOP.
- Updates to procedures for best practices
- Response to supplier and customer audits
- NC, corrective actions
- Collaborate with HR to ensure employee is trained and skill levels are adequate for appointed tasks.
· Inform Quality Unit of any anomalies in processing of product including return, scrap, re-work relating to:
o Raw materials
o Machines
o Packaging
o Process (planned and un-planned deviations)
o Personnel
· Non-conformance Investigations
· Production Quality Monitoring and Inspection including but not limited to:
o Incoming Raw Material Inspections and Approvals
o Receipt of Incoming Raw Materials and Testing of specific products
o Quality/Production - walk through of Production area to update on corrective actions, areas of improvement and overall update of manufacturing areas with Quality.
o Work Order Review
o Pest Control company with activity and following up on responses.
- Maintain records of any tests performed, methods used and final disposition according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain site specific laboratory equipment service and calibrations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workflow by monitoring steps of the process.
· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Adhere to following the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $20.50 - $26.50 per hour
