SUMMARY:
Develop, implement and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of advanced machined materials consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. Supervise a team of quality technicians. Plan and direct activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality systems for industrial processes, materials and products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to purchased material, in-process material and finished products to assure high productivity, high technical integrity and that quality control standards are achieved.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
- Prepare organization for current and future quality systems audits. Assist the Director of Quality in developing and maintaining the current quality system procedures and work instructions.
- Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
- Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
- Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Company. Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product or process quality and reliability.
- Provide and oversee inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
- Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality. Follow-up on and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests.
- Participate in a Management Review of the Quality System, as needed.
- Oversee established calibration and testing program. Establish a program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams.
- Design, develop and implement quality control training programs. Interface with other Departments and the internal Trainer to develop and implement training programs as required.
- Assure maintenance of quality records in an organized, functional and traceable system.
- Develop and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, make suggestions with regard to procedures, standards and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
- Effectively recommend suggestions regarding hiring, promotions, wage adjustments and terminations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
