BAE Systems in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a QA Inspector IV. In this role as a QA Inspector IV, you will interface with Trade Supervisors, Ship Superintendents, and Customer Representatives regarding quality issues. As the QA Inspector IV, you'll be tasked to read and interpret customer specification requirements. You'll plan, schedule, and accomplish customer inspections by performing and documenting in-process and final inspections as required by the contract plan. You'll track Process Control Procedures for status, completion, and final customer acceptance. You'll monitor Norfolk Ship Repair personnel and subcontractors' in-process work to determine and document deficient work on a Norfolk Repair Deficiency Report and follow-up on corrective actions. Act as a liaison between MARMC, BAE Systems production, and the customer representative for problem areas concerning the contracts being worked. Resolve conflicts and write deficiency reports as needed.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires a High School diploma or the overall equivalent;
- Knowledgeable in Quality best practices, processes, and procedures;
- Prior experience in Quality Inspections;
- Skills with commonly used Quality tools. Able to verify personnel are using correct materials and tools in working area shown in drawings/specifications;
- Able to inspect blanking and tagging and ensure customer requirements are being followed;
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite. Able to work within a QA database built from Access with form filled text entry;
- Will be required to successfully complete the PCMS Installation Training Course;
- Able to develop and maintain a Test and Inspection Plan for completeness.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Shipyard experience a plus.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $57100 - $91400

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
