Kett provides services to automotive manufacturers, Tier-1 suppliers, and technology companies on public roads, proving grounds, off-road, and at engineering and technical centers. Kett’s core service offerings include contract recruiting and staffing, proving ground management, test program development, field and fleet test development, data acquisition and reporting, mapping programs and test trip staffing, and logistics and support.
We are currently looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team and work with our customer; an innovative electric vehicle manufacturer at their facilities in Irvine, CA.
*Frequent Travel Required*
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
- 100% Onsite in Irvine, CA and Normal, IL when travelling
- Travel Required to Normal Illinois about 4 months/year or so (3 weeks or so every couple months)
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high-quality relationship with the manufacturing team they are supporting
- Support manufacturing Build in Quality initiative by providing a last line of defense inspection of the product for their area
- Execute product and process validation / inspection plans
- Identify and contain suspect defective material
- Have the potential to utilize advanced metrology equipment to control processes and identify defects
- Inspect, test or measure components, products and materials being produced.
- Initiate and participate in quality related continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects
- Develop, maintain, and improve the quality culture within responsible area
- May perform other duties as assigned Potential business travel to support product /process development at company and supplier locations

Requirements:
Minimum requirements:
- Manufacturing/assembly/quality process and/or automotive repair and/or mechanical experience (+2 yearspreferred)
- Clean driving record (3 years with tickets or at fault accidents)
- Problem solving experience
- Customer quality expectations understanding
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of statistical process control / control charts
- High school education or equivalent (Bachelor Degree preferred)
- 2+ years of manufacturing, assembly, or quality experience.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited Standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Communicate in a high-pressure environment
- Be able to pass a criminal background screening, drug test, employment verification and education verification.
Preferred requirements:
- Pre-production vehicles and High volume manufacturing experience
- Electrical vehicles features knowledge
