QUALITY IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
Reports to: Director of Nursing
Supervises: ACS/Community Health Navigators
Schedule: Full-time /Non-Exempt
Hours: Regular business hours; five days per week; average 8 hours/day though flexibility needed to accommodate patient care and deadlines.
Job Summary:
The Quality Improvement (QI) Manager oversees and monitors the clinical Quality Improvement programs for Blue Ridge Medical Center (BRMC) and coordinates all aspects of BRMC?s quality initiatives. They work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), and the various clinical directors and managers as designated to develop performance improvement initiatives for quality, service, and efficiency of the organization. The QI Manager uses established clinical guidelines and leverages technology to manage data collection, analysis, measurement and other BRMC tools to improve the quality of care of BRMC patients. Must demonstrate a sincere dedication and loyalty to the mission, vision and core values of BRMC.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
- Collaborates with clinical, technical, analytical, and operational staff members to implement and document care management programs.
- Develops tools, forms, and processes to ensure compliance with accreditation and BRMC standards and practices.
- Provides education and training on Quality Improvement theories, strategies, and tools for staff on implementing Quality Improvement programs.
- Implements and directs appropriate use of statistical process controls used to manage data based decision-making.
- Integrates data and technical solutions into program development and maximizes the use of the Electronic Health Record for care management practices.
- Utilizes data to analyze workflow trends and formulate recommendations for Quality Improvement programs.
- Manages internal databases to track and report on implementation progress and barriers.
- Supports the implementation of care management practices to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of high quality care delivered.
- Co-chair Care Management Committee along with the Director of Nursing.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient records, information, and departmental activities involving patient information.
- Attends and participates in assigned meetings, committees and trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision
- Serves as a support for those in all areas of quality
- With direction of the Director of Nursing, assure that orientation and training is sufficient for persons to perform their daily expectations
- Help out with work flows to support the staff
- Assists with all needs contacting and working with different ACOs.
