Job Summary:
As a QHES Manager, you will lead the Plant’s quality, health, safety, and environmental initiatives. Quality at Nederman is critical to our success, this role will manage the overall quality of the products manufactured to ensure adherence to all company standards and objectives. Along with maintaining quality, this role will work to maintain Nederman’s international and local health, safety, and environmental standards. This is a salaried position that reports to the Plant Manager. The selected applicant will be expected to uphold the company's vision of "Long Term Sustained Employment".
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy, and maintain the plant's quality system
- Maintain ISO Standards and its associated documents.
- Maintain ATEX Standards and its associated documents.
- Lead training process of all company personnel as it relates to ISO/ATEX procedures and Work Instructions.
- Establish a foolproof quality control program to ensure nonconforming products are within established guideline, acting as the last line of defense for finished goods.
- Work to create and continuously improve a neat, safe, and clean work environment.
- Work to incorporate and maintain Lean Six Sigma practices/processes throughout the plant.
- Provide management with quality performance reports; internal and external.
- Responsible for calibration of all testing equipment, to include annual review for end-of-life items.
- Drive reduction in COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality)
- Lead root cause analysis of non-conformances
- Develop and implement corrective actions
- Establish and document product quality standards.
- Supervise quality technician(s) including training and direction.
- Represent the company as the primary Point of Contact for customers in the event of a non-conformances. This position will be responsible for the entire process of documentation, resolution, credit, closure, and CAR’s.
Your Education and Experience
- 5-10 years in a Quality Role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with 3rd party quality audit certifications
- Excellent Microsoft Office capabilities, including Excel
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Secondary Education at associates or bachelors level preferred
- 5 plus years’ experience managing a Quality Department preferred
- ISO and ATEX documentation background strongly preferred
- LEAN, 6 Sigma, and Continuous Improvement knowledge preferred
- Strong knowledge on annual Inventory and regular cycle count
- Experience with developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization and inventory management
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other basic computer usage.
- Proficiency with handheld computer (i.e., Smart phone, iPad) and network bases.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced customer service skills including conflict management and opportunity development/consulting.
- Confident in performing highly physical tasks and regularly utilizing hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. As well as, lifting and or moving weight limits in line with the safety policy.
