Description

The Quality Engineering Leader will be responsible for managing the overall planning and direction of the Quality Department and Manufacturing Quality related activities specific to a single Engine product line.  The Quality Engineering Leader will collaborate across all manufacturing disciplines to drive Quality System requirements, metrics, and issue resolution.

  • Responsible for all Quality deliverables in support of the Engine manufacturing processes
  • Direct leader to a small to medium group of Quality Engineers
  • Train, develop, and evaluate Quality Engineers
  • Work cross functionally to meet deliverables
  • Ensure Quality Management System processes are established, implemented, and maintained (Global Quality Manual, GMS BIQ)
  • Develop, execute, and drive the Business Plan Deployment process
  • Coordinate remediation response and resolution for customer, internal, and supplier quality concerns
  • Provide technical assistance as needed
  • Drive complex problem-solving activities to resolution
  • Interface with Program Quality, CPIT, PET, Supplier Quality, Suppliers, and Product Engineering
  • Champion departmental initiatives associated with Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment

Basic Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be new and difficult
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with, lead, and motivate others
  • Strong manufacturing knowledge
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of quality practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of GMS Principles

Basic Preferred:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience in operations on the plant floor
  • 2+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing Quality role
  • Red X or OPEX training
