About the Role:

As a QA Lead, you'll be at the forefront of our client's Azure Cloud-based environment, working with technologies like Azure DevOps, Playwright, SQL Server, and more. Expect regular opportunities to enhance existing software and engage in new development initiatives every quarter.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Communicate testing progress to stakeholders.
  • Oversee the daily activities of fellow testers.
  • Engage in daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Review reported defects and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize bug tickets.
  • Escalate critical issues and participate in decision-making on the best course of action.
  • Generate reports and produce documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop test plans and strategies.
  • Track key QA metrics such as defect density and open defect count.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Identify bottlenecks and weaknesses in the Quality Assurance process, proposing improvements.
  • Recommend testing tools to Senior Management.
  • Train and mentor new QA team members.
  • Prepare and present reports and metrics to Senior Management.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of QA experience.
  • 4-5 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership/management experience in QA.
  • Proficiency in software QA methodologies and tools.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a testing team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with software management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps.
  • Previous experience in building a test automation suite.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience in a distributed environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL Reporting (Raw Queries, SSRS, Power BI, etc.).
  • Experience with N-Layer application architecture testing.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Playwright.
  • Financial industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience in managing offshore QA resources is advantageous.
