In this role, you have the opportunity to ensure the quality of our products meets the high demand requirements of the aerospace industry. Generate and improve program quality assurance plans (QAP) to enhance uniformity and meet quality assurance standards for space level manufacturing processes. This position primarily supports the implementation and support of Quality Assurance in support of space programs.
Job Responsibility:
- The on-going development and improvement of Quality Assurance Plans, work instructions, verification and validation, to assure product and process integrity for space products.
- Enhance quality inspection methodology while ensuring standardization of process definitions within documented work instructions including flow down of customer requirements.
- Supporting source inspections and/or audits at sub-tier suppliers in support of space programs.
- Supporting First Article Inspections and trending program data to control process drift.
- Interfacing with multiple Mercury locations to ensure consistent implementation and execution of program quality assurance requirements
- Overseeing program non-conformance reporting including root cause and corrective action development and execution of continuous improvements.
- Serving as the Program Quality Assurance lead and interacting with customer Program and Quality Assurance including development and reporting of program quality metrics as required.
Required Qualification:
- Experience in microelectronics industry, preferably RF/microwave technology
- Corrective action and process improvement
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control, with ability to monitor and report trends internally and externally (suppliers)
- Basic knowledge in MIL-STD-883, MIL-PRF-38534 and J-STD-001S (Space Addendum), IPC-610 workmanship standards
- Knowledge of geometric tolerances and reading blueprints/production drawings, including - Machining symbols - Electrical symbols
- Comfortable using high & low power microscopes and optical comparators
- Experience with use of inspection gages
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
Preferred Qualification:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering preferred with experience in Quality Assurance and/or inspection with 8+ years of experience, 5+ years working on space level product
- Experience working in an AS9100 Quality System environment
- Familiarity with APQP/PPAP methodology
- Secret level clearance (preferred but not required)
