Quality Engineer

Role: Quality Engineer                                                
Location: Newport 
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
Monday - Thursday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, and 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join an established engineering company in Newport.
This position provides you with the opportunity to work with a leading engineering business, operating in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotives and transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that the site Quality and Inspection function satisfies the business requirements
Ensure processes documentation complies to internal and external quality systems, including but not limited to NADCAP, AS9100
Ensure understanding of internal and external quality systems (as above) is flowed to all levels on site
Ensure that the Contract review undertaken is effective and assist with the PAQP/FAIR
Customer Liaison ensuring, customers are notified if any issues or non-conformances occur. Ensure timely resolution of any customer complaints received.
Monitor vendor ratings and ensure suppliers issues are resolved.
Monitor the KPI data, liaise with site Management to resolve any problems that occur, to ensure that the site objectives are on target or action has been implemented to address any issues that may arise.
Review root causes and effectiveness of corrective actions
Support the Lab and Inspection areas
Participate and Initiate Continuous Improvement Projects
Qualifications & Experiences
Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version-control procedures, and defect management processes
CMM Experience/Knowledge
Work independently and is reviewed infrequently with minimal supervision
Self-supervising within the guidance and expectations of divisional management
Knowledge of quality systems and measurement
Lean Manufacturing knowledge
Knowledge of AS 9100 & NADCAP
Ability to present data effectively
Analytical skills
