Job Summary:

The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Engineer) works closely with the QA Manager to implement and support QA best practices. This position will lead projects and work with developers, business analysts, project managers and internal customers to help deliver high quality applications and digital experiences. The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for testing Web and Internal applications. Experience with Agile and Waterfall software development process and automated testing is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead QA testing activities on projects. The responsibilities include collaboration with project team members including Project Manager, Business Analysts, Developers and other testers.
• Develop test strategies and perform hands on testing and provide estimates on the QA effort for projects. Report on project testing status.
• Work with the PM and QA manager to remove impediments preventing testing progress.
• Responsible for working with the QA automation engineer to evaluate and recommend candidates for automated testing and assisting with the implementation of automated tests.
• Promote QA best practices including but not limited to: testable requirements/acceptance criteria, stability of test environments, established testing standards and test documentation.
• Follows established QA team standards: participate in sprint planning and team stand ups, use designated tools for collaboration and status reporting.
• The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for mentoring QA team members. Assisting with on boarding new team members and providing training.

Knowledge and skills:

• BS in computer science or equivalent experience
• At least 7 years in the field of testing software products both manual and automated.
• Ability to lead the QA effort on projects
• Self-Starter and ability to take on complex and challenging tasks.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to work with teams in multiple locations and time-zones.
• Strong proficiency with both manual and automated testing tools and systems like Selenium.
• Proven success testing desktop applications, mobile applications, web services and web based applications/sites.
• Proficient at finding and reporting defects.
• Experience testing websites, evaluating performance, consider design and usability across devices and browsers.
• Experience with Agile software delivery methodologies such as Scrum.
• Experience using Agile tools like Jira and source control systems like Bitbucket.
• Experience with traditional Waterfall SDLC methodology
• Good organization skills with the ability prioritize, assess risk, and adjust accordingly.

Starting Annual Salary: $68,000 - $114,000
