Description
The role of the Quality Control (QC)/Editorial Manager is to ensure the overall quality of training deliverables created by the Syneos Health Learning Solutions (SHLS) team. The QC/Editorial Manager will coordinate with solution implementation managers (SIMs) and COE leads to ensure the QC process is followed throughout the project and will flag major quality issues within deliverables.
The QC/Editorial Manager will be responsible for triaging deliverables on a daily basis, assigning projects to editors, and ensuring they are completing assignments to meet deadlines. They will evaluate other editors’ work and coach as needed.
The QC/Editorial Manager will manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with SIMs and COE leads to ensure QC process is followed throughout the project
- Triage projects daily to ensure projects are assigned appropriately and deadlines are met
- Manage, train, and coach contract editorial staff
- Assign projects to editors and ensure all requested deliverables have been edited for grammar, clarity, appearance, logic, overall structure, and in accordance with prevailing style
- Flag major quality issues within deliverables to SIMs/COE leads
- Update and maintain SHLS style guide
- Copyedit, proofread, and fact check SHLS materials, as required
Qualifications
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional editing in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent copyediting and fact checking skills
- Project coordination/organization skills
- Ability to evaluate workload of team and prioritize tasks
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to make consistent judgement calls
- Excellent MS PowerPoint skills, including experience with masters, speaker’s notes, and formatting
- Excellent MS Word skills, including experience with track changes and formatting
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Proficiency with MS Excel
Preferred Skills
- Experience writing or editing for pharmaceutical or healthcare industries
- Experience editing training materials
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,734 to $119,667. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
