JOB SUMMARY
Tests and inspects raw materials and finished goods prior to and during manufacturing of pillows using devices and procedures to maintain product quality.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Inspection
- Inspects all components and raw materials during manufacturing for compliance with Company and customer product specifications and requirements.
- Makes determination to release components for production or delivery.
- Develops and follows sampling plans by applying variable and sequential sampling methods.
- Inputs all sampling data results in the Quality database and prepares a report on the data collected.
- Communication
- Must be able to communicate effectively with manufacturing employees, Supervisors and Managers.
- Leadership
- Oversees pillow manufacturing ensuring that it meets Company and customer specifications and requirements.
- Resolves problems and reports unresolved problems to Quality Control Manager as they arise. Instructs employees on the methods to ensure the quality.
- Inventory & Production
- Makes necessary adjustments to inventory utilizing Company database systems.
- Determines whether defects are vendor or manufacturing, making appropriate system transactions to adjust inventory.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience working in Quality Control is required; textile industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with AS-400, Logimax, and Frontier computer database system is a plus.
- Problem solving skills.
- Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to flexible work hours and work in a warehouse environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to occasionally lift objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
- Able to occasionally carry objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
- Able to frequently bend, climb, crawl, kneel and/or squat.
- Able to frequently push and/or pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.'
- Able to walk or stand six hours a day.
- Ability to withstand long periods sitting at a desk.
- Frequent use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer.
