Job Description:
Analyze incoming raw milk using chemical, microbiological, and physical methods.
Test incoming loads of liquid sugars, soy-base, and rice base for brix, color, flavor, and clarity.
Perform chemical, physical tests on finished product per product specifications
Perform micro tests on product using traditional methods and ATP bioluminescence.
Prepare and run calibration samples for raw milk and finished product
Prepare media and test solutions as needed.
Check and maintain calibration of lab instruments and plant thermometers
Check temperature of storage tanks.
Collect samples from storage tanks, Collect cooling media samples.
Monitor weights, package integrity and coding during manufacture.
Perform volume checks. Ensure adequate lab supplies are stocked.
Ensure that documents are completed accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Put away incoming lab supplies.
Clean laboratory equipment and maintain laboratory clean and organized.
Prepare and ship samples/product.
Assist in customer complaint follow up.
Assist Manager in R&D.
Requirements:
Knowledge of biological and chemical testing equipment, Knowledge of dairy testing methods and procedures
Ability to interpret/analyze test results, Ability to differentiate colors, Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, Ability to work independently, Ability to perform some manual labor and knowledge of Word and Excel computer programs.
Bachelor Degree, preferable in Microbiology or Foods Science.
