We currently are looking to add a full-time Quality Control Supervisorto our team at our Northeast Philadelphia, PA facility. Job Purpose:

Supervise the team and workflow in the Quality control department while collaborating with other managers and team members to accomplish required task. It is the QC Supervisors role to lead by example and follow the standards as well as ensure the accessibility, reliability, and performance offered by our products to ensure they meet the requirements established before delivering the to the customers or any stakeholders involved. The QC Supervisor is directly accountable for applying and sustaining specifications on internal Quality Control operations and daily adherence to those standards to meet associated customer quality requirements.

As the Quality Control Supervisor, the team member will:

  • Establishing the appropriate team staffing level and metrics pertaining to the quality team and monitoring team performance based on the metrics and standards established.
  • Establishes departmental scheduling to ensure coverage to ensure optimum flow of materials in & out of the inspection process and support for other departments.
  • Evaluating the performance and milestones of the department and provide feedback on opportunities to improve the performance and work quality
  • Assign work, coach, reward, identify skill building opportunities and maintain team member certifications.
  • Coaches team to embrace continuous improvement and cost reduction and facilitates NDT training and qualifications in accordance with Corporate Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • Maintains Kingsbury Quality control documents in Syteline, full knowledge of the ISO 9001 system.
  • Managing activities related to quality, including but not limited to gage certifications and calibration, ISO 9001 compliance and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) requirements.
  • Maintain an understanding of governing specifications and requirements. I.E., Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation System (FARS/DFARS), material specs and Customer/DCMA inspection requirements, and coach/advise QC team and others.
  • Communicates with other departments, divisions, and customers as necessary.
  • Participate (where allowed) in all inspection processes as needed to support department and workflow objectives, and lead by example.
  • Scheduling and facilitating Customer and DCMA inspection witness activities.
  • Responsible for annual department budget
  • Procurement and maintenance of department equipment
  • Attends all required meetings, i.e., Safety training and huddles.
  • Responsible for safety in all areas of the division.
  • Completes special projects and other duties assigned.

Abilities and Other Skills:

Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Education and Experience:

Experience:5+ Years

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience: Continuing education in quality or Management related fields. Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic and Dye Penetrant knowledge.
