Your Role:
At MilliporeSigma the Quality Control Supervisor – Microbiology leads a team of QC Microbiology and Cell Culture scientists who perform Quality Control testing of raw materials and finished goods used in the manufacture of cell culture media. Job duties include:
- Hire, train, coach, develop, and evaluate team members’ performance.
- Ensure the scheduling of daily operations in the QC laboratory supports the timely testing and release of raw material and finished product.
- Provide problem solving and troubleshooting assistance and technical support to QC personnel.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by following corporate and departmental safety regulations.
- Maintain records of test data per compliance to site quality testing and documentation requirements and ensure all personnel are fully trained on the principles of Data Integrity.
- Lead investigations of process and product non-conformance to ensure closure within established time frames.
- Ensure corrective actions assigned to QC have been implemented within established time frames.
- Demonstrate leadership in developing and implementing quality system initiatives and process improvements in the QC laboratories.
- Provide timely responses to customer inquiries, audit observations and complaints and initiate corrective actions where applicable.
- Participate in design, development and approval of new product specifications and revisions of existing specifications.
- Ensure maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment according to approved procedures. Coordinate activities to ensure QC test methods and equipment are validated to the appropriate standards.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or other Life/Physical Science discipline 3 + years of experience in Microbiology in a GLP setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of GLP experience
- 1 + years of supervisory experience
- Thorough understanding of microbiological techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communications ski lls
