Position Summary
Waiteco Machine (WCO), a CMT company, is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor for our Devens, MA location. This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that includes establishing a corporate quality assurance system and team that promotes customer satisfaction and positively impacts the financial performance of the business. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. The salary range for this role is between $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year depending on experience*
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead implementation and management of quality management system.
- Participate in design development projects to represent quality assurance and customer needs.
- Develop and document procedures for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
- Implement metrics for monitoring system effectiveness and product quality decisions.
- Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving for corrective actions and process improvements.
- Establish statistical data systems to predict trends for product quality improvement.
- Analyze customer product specifications for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing requirements.
- Monitor vendor performance and establish criteria for critical vendors.
- Review customer contracts and ensure inclusion of quality and process plans criteria.
- Report quality issues, trends, and losses to management.
- Review and establish supplier quality requirements for suppliers' purchase orders.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives to resolve Quality Control issues.
- Drive culture change for fact-based management, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Standardize work processes and mitigate major costs of poor-quality processes.
- Strive for defect-free processes through continuous improvement.
- Enhance organizational capabilities for process quality and "do it right the first time" awareness.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with some college coursework is required.
- 5+ years' quality management experience in a CNC production machining environment is required.
- Experience in or knowledge of lean manufacturing is required.
- Experience in or knowledge of all machining practices, tool design, and GD&T is required.
