Quality Control Lead

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Quality Control Lead located in Concord, NC. The Quality Control Lead will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Quality Control and assurance standards, managing and coordinating Quality Control activities, conformance with AS9100, and conducting quality audits. This role is responsible for Performing tests and measurements using measurement equipment in our quality lab.

Qualifications

  • Skills in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Quality Management
  • Experience with ISO9001 FAA and/or AS9100D
  • Recent hands on experience with measuring equipment (CMM, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other calibrated gauges)
  • Expert level GD&T Experience
  • Experience in conducting quality audits
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and manage a project
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis

Duties

  • Also known as The Gatekeeper. Employ best practices to ensure only conforming parts are approved to ship to customers.
  • Identify non-comforming parts as soon as possible during the production process.
  • Safety is our team's number one priority. Actively participate to uphold high safety standards and make safety recommendations as needed.
  • Establish procedures for maintaining ITC standards of quality, reliability and safety.
  • Implements and helps to maintain ITC's Quality Management System in accordance with current quality standards, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a foundation for improvement.
  • Directing, planning and promoting the details of inspection methods and procedures utilized by the company in compliance with quality system standards and all applicable customer requirements.
  • Ownership of quality department and dept. assigned tasks in JIRA system (company-wide project mgmt. software).
  • General cleanliness and organization of QC Lab & offices.
  • Troubleshooting problems or quality issues related to products or processes. Maintaining CAPA system and review.
  • Assist with employee education of quality and inspection standards, such as GD&T.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation maintained in JIRA and Confluence databases.
  • Oversee the reporting of non-comformances in CAR data base and assign/follow-up.
  • Lead on supplier quality management support including on-site evaluations or audits.
  • Manage internal audits of Quality Management Systems.
  • Collaborates with team during quote process/contract review to determine inspection requirements.
  • Understand all customer specific requirements.
  • Customer resource and support for quality items.
  • Oversee quality inspection process & standards during production.
  • Provides feedback to production manager, machinists, programming lead, project manager, and operations manager as needed.
  • Performing tests and measurements using measurement equipment.
  • Handle client specific quality programs including items such as first article of inspections.
  • Regulate quality lab equipment and calibration schedules. Submit requests for quality purchases.
  • Key decision maker determining quality staffing levels and hiring quality department employees.
  • Maintain AS:9100 and ISO:9001 certifications (when secured).
  • Continued education and certifications as required.
